Entertainment Weekly: First Sneak Peek Inside ALLEGIANT - A Quote From 'Tris'

Our first look inside Allegiant - From chapter 7, a quote from Tris! We need this like, yesterday.

From EW: Just as the Divergent movie series is gearing up, the book series that started it all is coming to a close. No other YA series has whipped up such a fan frenzy since The Hunger Games, and Allegiant by Veronica Roth brings Tris and Four’s adventure to an end on Oct. 22. EW has the very first worldwide exclusive sneak peek inside the third and final book in the series. Warning: The excerpt is maddeningly short — just enough to drive you Initiates crazy with anticipation.

What do you think Tris is talking about? Are you counting down the days until Allegiant?
To tide you over, check out The World of Divergent: The Path to Allegiant, a free e-book available for download on Sept. 24. It will have 8 quotes from the book, along with an interview with Veronica Roth, Faction Manifestos, a Faction quiz, and more.

Miles Teller Talks About Divergent & Shailene Woodley with Next Movie + New Picture

Here's a new picture of Miles Teller
on a photoshoot for upcoming movie 'Are We Officially Dating?', and a new interview that took place after the VMAs, in which he talks about The Spectacular Now, Shailene, future Divergent sequels, his porn name, and more:

Excerpts from Next Movie Interview:

NextMovie caught up with Teller in New York City the day after the MTV Video Music Awards, which Teller attended (along with some after-parties, he admitted) on Woodley's arm. In a wide-ranging conversation that covered his photographic memory ("It's my thing. I can go back and recall things by, like, searching through images in my head"), and whether he would ever bring a date to a SoulCycle class ("All my dates are souldates"), we managed to talk about movies as well. Read on for Teller's thoughts on how to play drunk, watching his sex scenes with his grandma and his dream on-screen death.

Miles Teller Talks to 'Vulture' About Divergent, Auditioning for Four, the VMAs & More

loading
Vulture talks to Miles Teller (who plays Peter in Divergent) about starring in the movie, and which roles he was originally considered for. He's says he's also looking forward to the sequel where he'll get to play opposite Kate Winslet.

Vulture: You were probably out late last night for the VMAs. Are you going to be hung-over when we talk?
Uhhh, yeah. I thought it was a bit rude for my publicist to invite me to these VMA after-parties at the same time she was scheduling me for, like, Good Day New York starting at eight o’clock.

What did you think of the VMAs?
I thought they were great. I was one of the dancing bears in Miley Cyrus’s act.

Were you the one who got the anilingus?
[Laughs.] She has a long tongue, right?

So the Divergent trailer premiered last night, too. I think I see Peter kicking Tris?
Yeah. That’s my knee. The trailer could have used some more Peter.

They did bring you all the way out here. Are you at all disappointed you're playing Peter as opposed to the heartthrob, Four? And did you audition for Four?
Well, Theo [James, who plays Four] is very tan. [Mocks sadness.] He’s always going to be tanner than me. No, I auditioned for Four originally and maybe, yeah, that would have been cool to do. But it’s nice to play against type. I think I play usually very likable characters, and so it was refreshing to be on set and not have to make people laugh. It was just like, Get in shape and pick on Shailene. That’s really all I do in that whole movie, just pick on her.

Shailene Woodley Featured in FLAUNT Magazine: New Photoshoot & Interview

VIDEO: NEW Behind the Scenes of Divergent 'Factions' Featurette + Interviews with the Cast

Check out this exciting new Divergent featurette exclusively revealed by Fandango, which shows TONS of new behind the scenes footage from the movie, and interviews with Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet, Jai Courtney, Ashley Judd, & Veronica Roth. It's epic.

The video explains explains how society is divided into five factions that determine a way of life, and that people are expected to serve their faction. Theo James/Four says "it's a story about choice, and how you define yourself." Tris is a teen who chooses to leave her family's faction and join Dauntless, which means some hardcore training involved. Dauntless leader Eric, played by Jai Courtney, describes the Dauntless as "almost like an armed force." Ashley Judd, who plays Tris' mother, happily tells us that the movie has stayed true to the book, which is great to hear!

ELLE Interview With Veronica Roth: Writing a Bestseller, Coming of Age, Tris & Four's Relationship + More

Here's a great new interview with the Divergent author Veronica Roth, in which she chats about writing Divergent, the relationship between characters Four & Tris, and whats next for her:

From Elle: Veronica Roth is giving Suzanne Collins a run for her money as the reigning queen of dystopian YA fiction.

Her three-book series follows rebellious heroine Tris and the stoic (and dreamy) Four as they maneuver through a fractured future-tense Chicago, but in our present, everything is looking pretty idyllic for Roth as she leads the New York Times bestseller list with the first two installments of her series, Divergent and Insurgent currently sitting coolly in its numbers 1 and 3 slots, respectively, and a movie adaptation of the former starring Kate Winslet, Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Zoe Kravitz is due out next March.

Roth's third and final installment, Allegiant, will hit shelves October 22nd , and in the meantime she'll tide over her rabid fanbase by doling out four short stories about Divergent's mysterious Four, as e-shorts. And, oh yeah, she is only 24. (now 25)

ELLE chatted up the prodigious and prolific Roth about coming of age through her books, her book-tour style, and what's next. (Spoiler alert: It's not a quarter-life crisis.)

Ansel Elgort Live Stream Q&A Session: Talks Divergent, Shailene Woodley & TFIOS

'Divergent' star Ansel Elgort livestream-ed a pretty cool Q&A session for fans earlier today.

Ansel is currently in Pittsburgh where he is set to begin filming 'The Fault in Our Stars' movie, alongside Divergent co-star Shailene Woodley.

In the Q&A he answered questions about working with Shailene Woodley in both movies, his acting inspiration, and other random things - like what the first movie to make him cry was.

He promises to do another when he reaches the next social network milestone, so if you're not following Ansel on twitter, go do it now HERE

Veronica Roth Clears Up Allegiant Rumours + Reveals The Character She Almost Killed Off

Veronica Roth sets the record straight on her tumblr about the Allegiant rumours buzzing around the internet, which character she tried to kill off in Insurgent (!!), and what her writing plans are after Allegient is released:

On Allegiant rumours:

So, every so often an Allegiant “spoiler” will pop up on Tumblr or on Twitter and I get a lot of frantic questions about it. It’s kind of tough to answer those questions, and here’s why:

SET PICTURES: New Photos of Theo James, Shailene Woodley & Ansel Elgort Filming Divergent

Thanks to DivergentFans for these pictures taken during filming back in June/July. They show Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley), Four (Theo James), and Caleb Prior (Ansel Elgort) on the Abnegation set.
Shailene and Theo appear in full Dauntless gear, while the pictures of Shailene & Ansel show them both in Abnegation costume.

A couple of extras who appear close to Ansel and Shailene in a few of the pictures, we think might be Susan and Robert Black, the Abnegation siblings who feature in the beginning of the book as friends/neighbours of Tris and Caleb. We hope so! It would be great if they managed to feature in the movie.  See more pictures after the cut:

Shailene Woodley Will Cut Her Hair for 'The Fault in Our Stars' Role & Donate it to Charity

Author John Green informed us on his tumblr that Shailene Woodley is cutting her hair this weekend to prepare for her role as Hazel in The Fault in Our Stars movie. And she’s donating her hair to Children with Hair Loss, an organization that provides free wigs to kids who’ve experienced hair loss due to cancer, burns, or other medical conditions.

"When Shailene told me about this, I immediately thought there might be people in nerdfighteria who want to join her. (We already have one convert joining in: Shailene’s mom!) So if you have eight or more inches of spare hair, consider donating it to Children with Hair Loss.
And if you do, let me know via the tags hairforhazel or itgrowsback, so I can put together some pictures/reblog your beautiful faces. I want to be clear that this was entirely Shai’s idea. (I don’t even think the studio knows about it.) I hope if you’re able, you’ll consider joining Shai in donating. Thanks!"

Shailene later posted a message on her very own tumblr:
"As some of you may know, I will be cutting my hair off this coming weekend in order to help morph my physical body into that of the incredible Hazel Grace Lancaster—-and i couldn’t be more amped. not only do i have the opportunity to externally shift my current establishment of self, but i have the blessed gift of donating my long locks to a wonderful organization who will then create a wig for someone in need. WHAT AN HONOR." Read her full post HERE. It's pretty inspiring.

Veronica Roth also reminded Divergent fans who were worried about her hair for insurgent filming "that Tris hacks off her hair in the beginning of book 2. Not that it's that important, but: lucky coincidence."

Update: See pictures of Shailene's new hair after the cut! (literally)

Divergent's 'Edward' Ben Lamb Talks About His Character & More in Interview With Daily Mail

Daily Mail has an interview with Divergent & The White Queen actor Ben Lamb. He talks about his character 'Edward' and being part of a fandom:

Daily Mail: Now Lamb’s just finished shooting Divergent, a sci-fi adventure set in post-apocalyptic Chicago where people are divided into five factions dependent on their personality; but one faction-less girl discovers all is not well in the seemingly perfect society.

‘It was a completely different thing to The White Queen,’ Ben says. ‘My character [Edward] is really exciting. He’s a golden boy cut down in his prime who becomes this bitter and twisted anti-hero, which was such a contrast to Anthony Rivers.'

In the film based on Veronica Roth’s teen novel, the actor stars alongside Oscar nominee Shailene Woodley, Zoe Kravitz and Oscar winner Kate Winslet, and with the cast at this year’s Comic-Con, Ben experienced his first taste of heavy fandom:

‘At Comic-Con I was asked a lot for my autograph, but I wasn’t expecting anyone to recognise me, so I just walked around looking at Batman stuff – but some of my Divergent castmates decided to dress up in superhero hooded dressing gowns!’

Now after starring in the new sci-fi blockbuster – which will go up against similar teen franchises The Hunger Games and The Mortal Instruments - it’s no surprise Ben is getting a lot of attention in Hollywood, but he humbly he puts the British invasion onto American screens down to the fact that he and his fellow English actors are “a lot cheaper” than their US equivalents.

After a whirlwind year, it’s no surprise the TV star doesn’t get much chance to watch many small screen offerings, however, he does enjoy a good box set, most recently House Of Cards – ‘I really think Kevin Spacey is very powerful’ - sci-fi series Fringe and, Game Of Thrones, which he ‘just got into while on location in Chicago’.

INTERVIEW: 'Divergent' Star Tony Goldwyn: The Prior Family Has 'Great Chemistry'

Aw! Tony Goldwyn (Andrew Prior, Father to Tris & Caleb in Divergent) talks about being part of the Prior family, along with Shailene Woodley (Tris), Ansel Elgort (Caleb), & Ashley Judd (Mother, Natalie).
Those that followed along during filming may have seen the cute messages they tweeted, about loving their onscreen family.

From Hollywood Crush: You're going to have to wait for March 21, 2014, to see "Divergent" on the big screen, but if you caught the trailer at San Diego Comic-Con, you've already seen more than Tony Goldwyn—who was actually in the movie—has.

"Divergent" follows teenager Tris Prior in dystopian Chicago as she discovers that she's a dangerous/ mix of several of her society's personality-based factions and subsequently sparks a revolution.

When Hollywood Crush caught up with Tony earlier this week, he revealed that Tris' big leap into the Dauntless headquarters is one of the scenes he's most excited about seeing in finished form. That, of course, was one of the trailer's highlights (yeah, just gonna rub it in that we've seen it). But Tony, who plays Andrew Prior, the father of our heroine, is also looking forward to seeing a couple of scenes he was actually in.

"We had a wonderful scene that I participated in which was the family together the night before the choosing ceremony," he said. "It was very good casting of the four of us, Shailene and Ashley [Judd] and Ansel [Elgort], the family, the Priors. We just had this great chemistry together and really felt like a family [living in] the world that Neil [Burger, director] created visually of the Abnegation. We had these two really wonderful days shooting these two scenes, and I'm really excited to see how those turn out." (Continued after the cut)

Cover Reveal: Divergent Short Story - The Transfer

Here is the first look at 'The Transfer' by Veronica Roth! The Divergent eBook short story will be the first of 4 released from Four/Tobias perspective.

We cant wait to get hold of this on September 3rd!

Hypable has the details:

"The Transfer cover follows in the foot steps of the Divergent trilogy designs with a circular shape behind the title. In the case of The Transfer, train cars create the circle. In four places within the circle, you’ll see train cars colliding.

Like the trilogy covers, this one depicts the Chicago skyline at the bottom. We can’t wait to see the three remaining covers, and how they all look lined up next to one another."

You can pre-order The Transfer right now on Amazon for $1.99.

Divergent Director Neil Burger Has an Advanced Copy of Allegiant - But He Hasn't Read it Yet!

Neil Burger reveals he has a much sought after copy of Allegient! As you may know, no advanced reader copies will be released prior to the release date to protect the secrets in the final book and avoid spoilers, so we're totally envious.

From Vulture: Most fans of the Divergent series would devour the third book, Allegiant, in one sitting, if they could get their hands on it. (It's not out until October 22.) They might even kill for it — or at least try a Dauntless sucker punch. But director Neil Burger, who is at the helm of the film series, has a copy and — gasp! — has not read it yet.

Okay, to be fair, the poor guy only just finished shooting in Chicago about two weeks ago, at which point he had to go to Comic-Con, then start editing. And besides, he has something the rest of us don't have: a direct dial to author Veronica Roth, which he's been employing ever since he started this whole thing. "I really grilled her about it while she was writing it," he told us when we ran into him at the after-party for Elyisum hosted by Ciroc Amaretto and Quintessentially Lifestyle this week. "I wanted to make sure we were on the right trajectory. I asked her what happened, where it all went."

Burger said that he rethought parts of the film Divergent based on these conversations, so that he could leave breadcrumbs leading to Allegiant. "There are a few things that we were thinking of cutting that we had to keep," he said. "And there were things where I'd be like, 'I want to do things this way,' and she'd be like, 'We're going to do that in the third book,'" so he'd reset his course.

Of course, Burger couldn't reveal spoilers — hey, we tried — but he did say that he asked Roth questions about the wall and the outside world, about how people in this world get their food, and whether or not they use money. "It's not in the book, and it's not really in the movie either, but for me as a filmmaker, you need to know these things," he said. "In the first book, there's this very potent image of this wall that actually has no narrative function, so we had to deal with it, and understand it. We had to know what the whole world was."

And in case you were wondering which faction Burger is in, he is Divergent.
