DIVERGENT movie is featured in the latest issue of Brazilian Capricho magazine, including an interview with Shailene Woodley (Tris) and Theo James (Four). Check it out translated below. Above is a larger version of a behind the scenes still we've seen before (HERE), the previous cropped version didn't feature Theo James. Another still is featured below in a slightly larger size.
A Translation of the Interview:
Shailene Woodley will shine in 2014. Besides The Fault In Our Stars, she’s starring alongside Theo James in Divergent, the first movie of a trilogy that tells the story of Tris Prior, a girl who lives in a futuristic society. We were at the set in Chicago, and besides visiting the backstage, we talked with Shai and Theo about the film. They looked very close to each other. *wink*
How are you like your characters?
Theo: We have the same hair! [laughs] Four has got a type of masculinity that doesn’t need to be proven by showing off his six-pack. It’s more of a strength thing.
Shailene: Just so we’re clear: the six-pack exists. [laughs] I see myself in Tris because she’s strong and passionate, it’s just that sometimes she can be competitive in a way that’s not very positive. But I get her.
Comparisons with The Hunger Games will happen. What do you guys think about that?
S: It’s a compliment. THG is a success and Jen Lawrence is incredible. A lot of stories like THG and Divergent are about feminine power. I’m happy that girls get inspiration from them.
And these heroines still have time for love, right?
S: Tris and Four’s relationship is not like the one from the couple in Twilight. They’re mostly people with things in common, as opposed to, I don’t know, soulmates. It’s not a dependent thing. I think this is a good example for people.
Was it fun to shoot the intense scenes?
S: It was fun. I love to feel the adrenaline and I loved all the training.
T: Yes, the preparation is long, but even that is great. We get into character and, consequently, act better.
Was it hard to shoot the scene in which you jump off the roof, Shailene?
S: It was great. The photos make it look a lot more dramatic [laughs]. But it was fun. Seven stories!
Are you afraid of heights?
S: Yes, I do!
T: You say that you do, but it’s a lie. You looked like a monkey when you climbed the Ferris Wheel, so at ease…
S: But that’s something that’s related to my adrenaline. Like, jump out of a plane. One day I want to do it, I have to do it. Or I’ll let myself down. I know I can do it.
What’s the scene what will make the fans happier?
S: When Theo takes off his shirt in the middle of the movie. [laughs]
T: I like the Ferris Wheel scene. The lighting was amazing. There’s something sexy about it.
S: Very sexy. And visually it’s beautiful.

Additional info:
- Four’s fear landscape scene, when the walls are closing in on them both, took 2 hours to film.
- Neil Burger says that Shailene and Theo attract each other in several ways.
