Ansel Elgort Talks About The Fault In Our Stars at the 'After Earth' Premiere
From Vulture: If you have not been following the YA book-to-movie news, know that Ansel Elgort has been cast opposite Shailene Woodley in two high-profile YA adaptations — Divergent, Veronica Roth's dystopian trilogy, and The Fault in Our Stars, John Green's cancer romance. The problem: Egort plays Shailene's brother in Divergent and her boyfriend in The Fault in Our Stars. Vulture has already expressed our discomfort with this movie incest, so when we spotted Elgort at last night's After Earth premiere hosted by Mercedes-Benz, we asked how he was feeling about the arrangement. "I think that's the magic of being an actor," he responded. "You can do that and it's not weird — people play different roles all the time, you know?" But people don't usually go from brother to lover in quick succession, we pointed out. "No, not always," Elgort admitted. "I feel like Shailene is the best actress I've ever met, who was good enough to read with, and I feel like I'm a pretty good actor, too, so I think it's going to be no problem for us. It'll be great." So really, no squeamishness at all about this? "Acting is acting. We have chemistry as brother and sister, but we're both good enough to have chemistry as lovers as well." Acting is acting. Repeat that to yourself.

We saw the faction entrances being set up yesterday, and now we know what they were for. Not sure if this is the choosing ceremony, or a school scene, we got mixed reports (set workers also tried to tell fans they were filming a commercial- bless them.) Obviously we weren't fooled. INTERVIEW: Theo James in Vanity Fair (2011)
Here's an old interview with Theo from Vanity Fair magazine from back in October 2011:
"He made a big impact in a smallish part as the swishy, smouldering Turkish toff in Downton Abbey. Theo James's legion of admirers would perhaps be horrified to hear not only that he used to box while a philosophy student in Nottingham University but also, and surely much worse, that he's started boxing again. What about the face? "Well it's great for your fitness and coordination," he says "But I'm still just a lanky dork. Ironically learning to box doesn't make you any tougher, it just makes you realise that if you actually got into a real fight you'd probably get your arse kicked." Having two brothers and two sisters provides another source of perspective. Against the sighs of admiration coming from fans of Downton Abbey, You will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, Bedlam and A Passionate Woman, Theo has to contend with his siblings more, shall we say, measured criticism, "One of my sisters saw an ad for something I was in and said 'Yeah, the ad looks great, you look like Quincy.' And I said 'Quincy! Which Quincy?' And she said 'You know, our Quincy - the family dog."
He may however have the last laugh - any canine likeness, along with boxing skills, might just come in handy in his upcoming role role alongside Kate Beckinsale in the vampire versus werewolf adventure Underworld:Awakening"

Shailene Woodley Talks About Divergent Co-Star Ansel Elgort Also Cast in 'The Fault in Our Stars'
From EW: Last week it was announced that Ansel Elgort landed the sought-after part of Augustus Waters in The Fault in Our Stars opposite Shailene Woodley.
Adapted from the John Green best-seller, Fault is a heartwarming/breaking love story between two teens who met in a cancer support group.
Funnily enough, Elgort and Woodley are already working together.
They’re currently filming Divergent with director Neil Burger (based upon the Veronica Roth book) where they play brother and sister, Caleb and Beatrice Prior. “I keep joking with Ansel about it,” Shailene tells EW with a laugh. “I’m like, ‘In a few months, buddy, you’re going to be my lover.’”
But all joking aside, Woodley seems thrilled with her future onscreen romantic pairing. “Ansel is so good. I’m so excited. He blew it out of the water,” she says of the time they read the parts of Gus and Hazel together. “And he’s a real sweetheart. I’m so excited to have him in my life.”
The filmmakers certainly agree: Wyck Godfrey previously told EW: ”We were all swept away by the humor, charm, and aching vulnerability Ansel brought to his portrayal of Gus. His performance completely annihilated our concerns about his playing Caleb in Divergent with Shailene, and we are confident that the fans of Fault will fall in love with him the same way that Hazel does–slowly, and then all at once.”
And author John Green told us, “I am by nature a cautious pessimist, but I’ll just say it: Now that we have Shailene and Ansel, I am completely, unreservedly psyched about this movie.”

2 Divergent Movie Stills Featuring Tris - Now In High-Quality
Tuesday 14 May 2013
UK Cover Reveal of Allegiant (Divergent #3)
Sugarscape: At long last, the UK cover of the final installment in Veronica roth's Divergent Series, Allegiant, has been revealed. Similar to the U.S. cover, this one features a lot of water... hmmm questions! Does the town get flooded? Do the factions attack each other with power hoses? BAAAHH.
NEW STILL: Watch Tris Go Dauntless + Article from EW
Woah! Check out this new still from the Divergent movie! The epic 'first jumper' scene we all know very well. We're pretty lucky getting these stills while the movie is still in early filming days.
From EW:
Afraid of heights? Let’s just say you probably wouldn’t make it in Dauntless.
The highly anticipated adaptation of Veronica Roth’s best-selling Divergent is still filming in Chicago, but EW has gotten this exclusive first look of Tris (Shailene Woodley) out on a ledge and perched to jump as part of initiation into her faction. For those of who haven’t read the books, in the dystopian world of Divergent, all of society is divided into five factions: Abnegation (selfless); Erudite (intelligent); Candor (honest); Amity (peaceful) and Dauntless (brave). Our heroine, sixteen-year-old Tris Prior, has chosen the Dauntless faction which involves a lot of very scary initiation tests—like the time she stood still while knives were thrown at her head.
“In this photo she’s already jumped off the train and onto a seven story building as part of the initiation rite for the Dauntless,” explains director Neil Burger. “The next thing they have to do is jump from the building and down through a courtyard that has a deep, black hole. It’s terrifying.” And filming this scene sounds almost as frightening. “We’d been nervously planning it because it is dangerous and there’s a lot of people on that roof,” says Burger, who used the former Spiegel building for this location. “We had to pull it off safely and also pull it off cinematically, so you have this knot in your stomach as you watch this young woman decide to do this crazy thing. We had great weather that day and I think this scene really is emblematic of the movie: It shows the energy and the rawness of the way we’re telling the story,” he says.
The cast of actors—which include Theo James, Miles Teller, Ben Lamb
and Zoe Kravitz—all have to do all sorts of stomach-lurching things,
such as jumping off of elevated trains and scaling great heights. Their
director says they’re a group ready for any challenge, especially his
leading lady. “Shailene says she’s not afraid of heights but that she’s
afraid of falling,” says Burger, with a laugh. “This makes perfect sense
to me. But she really did stand on that ledge—this is a real photo.
She’s incredibly game and so adventurous,” he says. “In a way, she’s
very Dauntless.”
From EW:

INTERVIEWS: Veronica Roth Chats About Allegiant, Movie Casting, & 'Uriah'
A few lucky fans and websites got to meet and interview author Veronica Roth, in which she spoke about the casting of the Divergent movie, Book 3 - Allegiant, Theo/Four, and the missing 'Uriah'...
From PagetoPremiere:
Q: Can you describe Theo James as Four in four words?
A: In four words?
Q: See the pun there?
A: Let me think. Okay. So…handsome, intense, and sensitive. And, I don’t know, badass? Is that good?
Q: Was Allegiant always the title or did you go through different ideas?
A: I did not go through different ideas. It was always Allegiant. It was always the title.

Ansel Elgort Offered Lead in 'The Fault in Our Stars' Opposite Shailene Woodley
Wow! As we posted back in March, Divergent's Shailene Woodley was cast as Hazel in 'The Fault in our Stars' movie adaptation. Since then everybody has been speculating who would play the other lead Gus opposite her. Today is was revealed that Ansel Elgort, a fellow Divergent cast member has won the role! Check it out below:
From EW: Hazel has found her Gus!
Ansel Elgort has been offered the role of Augustus Waters—the male lead opposite Shailene Woodley—in the eagerly anticipated adaptation of John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars, directed by Josh Boone. Green’s beloved, best-selling book is a love story that is equal parts funny, sweet, and heartbreaking in its telling of Hazel and Gus, two teens who meet in a cancer support group. (EW had it on the Best Fiction of 2012 list)
“Ansel is whip-smart and uber-charismatic and everything I dreamed for Augustus Waters,” John Green tells EW in an exclusive statement. “I am by nature a cautious pessimist, but I’ll just say it: Now that we have Shailene and Ansel, I am completely, unreservedly psyched about this movie.” (Read more after the jump)
Today Show: Allegiant Cover + Tagline Revealed! (Divergent Book 3)
The Allegiant cover is here! It was revealed on the Today Show when author Veronica Roth appeared with Ryan Seacrest. If you missed it you can watch the interview here or below:
From Veronica: "LOOK at it. Isn't it gorgeous?
Joel Tippie at HarperCollins is the creative force behind this cover, and he is so talented and always works so hard to get everything just right. (Also a shout out to Amy Ryan and Barb Fitzsimmons, also at Harper-- you guys are awesome!)
I have been
so fortunate to get three covers that I love. I couldn't be happier with this one and I can't wait to see all three books lined up on my shelf!Joel Tippie at HarperCollins is the creative force behind this cover, and he is so talented and always works so hard to get everything just right. (Also a shout out to Amy Ryan and Barb Fitzsimmons, also at Harper-- you guys are awesome!)
A short note about that symbol: no, it is not a faction symbol. It is, however, a symbol that appears in the book. I can't really share more than that-- you'll have to read it for yourself! (I can't wait for that either!)
Also, yes that is O'Hare at the bottom. No, I can't say more. AHH! Too many secrets."
Allegiant will hit book store shelves October 22.

Insurgent (Divergent #2) Gets A Screenwriter - Enter Brian Duffield
Wow! This is amazing news. Usually we have to wait until after the first movie for kind of this information.
From EW: "Divergent, based on the first book of Veronica Roth’s best-selling series, only just began shooting in Chicago late last month. But the powers-that-be must be feeling confident they have a hit on their hands since they’ve commissioned Brian Duffield to begin working on the sequel, Insurgent. Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher will also produce.
Duffield previously scripted Jane Got a Gun, directed by Gavin O’Connor, and currently filming with Joel Edgerton and Natalie Portman. Divergent will be in theaters in March, 21 2014."
Also, follow Brian on Twitter. He's a funny guy. Cant wait to see what you do with Insurgent, Bri! (Can we call you Bri? You are practically one of our fandom bff's now..)

PICTURES: The Divergent Cast Out in Chicago
Looks like the cast have been having a good time out and about in Chicago: Here are 2 pictures of them on a night out, and at a Bulls game.
First picture: Christian Madsen, Theo James, Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller, and his girlfriend Keleigh.
Second photo: Theo, Christian, Miles. On the right is, I think, movie producer John Kelly.
